hey all,
here's some idea about what is going to happen with 1.2 (the next
feature release, we've got quite some again, yay..).
there are two or three things that need some cleanup/final
polishing/fixing before they can go into master (i guess the styles
pull request, the crop/rotate branch and maybe picasa2 support are
candidates), after that i would like to announce a string freeze and
feature freeze, say on friday? that means that bugfixes can still go
into master no problem, but strings marked as _("") can't be changed
any more to give translators a chance to catch up. also new features
should not be introduced in master after that, to give us time to fix
bugs (not introduce new ones).
this catching up and bugfixing and usermanual writing stage is going
to take another couple of weeks usually, and then we'll have the first
release candidate as a tarball and then take it from there.
let me know if you have strong objections or know about stuff that is
urgent, almost done, and would touch strings.
