I re-checked the current code a bit. To me it seems there is a realistic 
chance to migrate from the current version to a color transfer module 
version 2 with a more reliable output. I prefer that route over a 
complete rewrite as it is not disruptive and will keep legacy history 
stacks valid.

So, I will work on such a migration to be implemented after 1.2. For the 
time being I suggest to keep the current module as it is. Only I will 
give in the usermanual a warning to better not use it before it's 
overhauled.

On the positive side: I will not break string freeze before 1.2 :)
