Dear Darktable Users and Developers,
I am using Darktabe for a while and I find it very impressive. However there is
an important feature which is provided by all other
relevant RAW-converter (e.g. Lightroom, after Shot pro, Aperture, etc.). This
feature is "Image Management".
The only possibility to manage the images in Darktable is to import them and to
have "Film Rolls". For my point of view
we need a more sophisticated managing tool. In a first step this could be a
simple reproduction of the directory structure where the images are stored.
In a second step this structure could be extended by groups. Please have a look
at After Shot Pro or Lightroom - they provide such functions.

Is there any initiative for developing such a functionality?

Best regards,
Alex
