Even if we ignore that people seem to like messing with the db, that will require to make sure that really all ways to mess with them from inside dt are ruled out (what if they exist in a XMP we read? What about LUA calls? ...) while I don't see the need to have this kind of guarantee. I wouldn't add complex code all over the place to treat some tags differently, since using tags from within the code is surely slower than directly using the flags we have in db and the image struct, too. > j.
