I built DarkTable 2.0.2 on Fedora FC23 on an Intel-64bit system. I can
Import images from my Sony RX100 but not from my Nikon D5000; "scan for
devices" gives "no supported devices found". Digikam and Shotwell are able
to import images from the Nikon D5000 just fine.

When I disconnect the Sony RX100, sometimes DarkTable will crash.

Any suggestions?

Well, with any camera you basically connect your computer to the "camera computer", you connect two complex systems. In a perfect world with perfect engineering, flawless software, and a patient human it should work.

There is no perfect world.
I prefer using a simple card reader for the memory-card. From there I use standard computer software and copy the pictures to the appropriate directory for darktable to take over.

Another plus: You will never haver to look where the different cables are you need for transferring pictures from cameras to computer and it doesn't matter whether you camera battery is fully charged when transferring pictures.
