You are right, the info is only overlayed when the mouse pointer is in the
upper half. It's the same when zooming to a single image in lighttable, not
just when pressing 'z'.

Hi All,

I am using DT 2.2.5 on Ubuntu 16.04. I noticed that when I browse
light room and press "z" to see the image in full screen - some times
I have the image info like name, lens used speed etc. displayed in the
top left when the image is in full screen and some times I don't. This
happen multiple time without quiting DT. I do switch a lot however
between various programs.

Is there a short cut that changes the behavior and I am pressing
unknowingly? How can I force the info to be displayed?
seems it also depends on whether show/hide image overlay is selected. I
hadn't noticed cited peculiarity as I always have image overlay set to
show.

I agree - using overlay (the star symbol in top left of light table) forces the overlay to be constantly displayed when zoomed. For now the mouse move top screen vs bottom works well for me. I was just not aware of it.

I did check also the preferences under GUI options there is "overlay txt sidecar over zoomed images" mine is not checked. I did try turning it on or off but I didn't observe any change even after restart of DT. So I am not sure what it is intended for.

Currently I am going to use the mouse move up half vs lower half.

Thank you all!
