Hi there, I'm having a problem with the situation mentioned below. I have one computer with darktable 2.4.0 on windows. here in the darktablerc-file I canged the database-entry to database=//nasbox/common/darktable/library.db
in order to save my library on nasbox. The pictures itself are stored there, too. Works perfectly. Now when using a second computer (also windows) I tried the same settings. It is not working I tried 2.4.1 and 2.4.4. The same entry as above: no message nothing, starking darktable from cmd - still no message, it's just returning to cmd. Replacing the "/" to "\" will create a subdirectory structure next tot he darktablerc-file -not that what I want Linking it to a folder name cause like P:\something causes a graphical errormessage "input/output error". Trying to use windows links (German Verknüpfung) doesn't work, too.Seems windows links cannot be used like linux sym-links. I tried to use some options in from the cmd. Like --library. Not starting, Or --confdir. Not starting Why is it working on the one and not the other? Isn’t this a problem for my case? there is, and I would think it would be. > * There is a second db-file. Seems I cannot relocate it. At least I > cannot set a path on it. What’s its content? contains setting, hotkeys and styles and perhaps more, ~/.config/darktable/data.db on linux > Georg > > > > BTW: I’ve been using dt now for alomost one year on linux, but have > moved to windows 10 now, since my ubuntu died ☹ :( ps: I frequently utilize a second computer, laptop and start dt as: darktable --library :memory: --configdir /tmp/dt I can then import the photos to my work computer and keep the edits. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected] ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected]
