Recommend that you first uninstall both 2.6 and 3.0 first from your
system, even deleting the darktable folder under C:/Program Files, then
reboot your system and install 3.0 fresh. When you install 3.0, it will
overwrite your pre-existing databases, converting them to the new
format. Once you install v3.0, you can not revert to v2.6 due to the
database changes.

I had version 2.6 running on this system for awhile now. I tried
uninstalling 3.0 and reinstalling 2.6 now 2.6 will not even open. When
launching 2.6 a black screen flashes and nothing happens it doesn’t
even show in the task manager.
