Hi all, I am running dt 3.4.0 on kubuntu 20.04 and I am unable to convince dt to update the database with external changes to xmp files. When modifying the xmp with an external editor and opening the folder with dt afterwards, dt will come up with the dialog asking if I want to modify the database or overwrite the xmp. Even when I choose to modify the database, the xmp is overwritten with the database content. I have seen some info that this is known and should have been fixed on dt 3.4?? I even tried to move the database aside forcing dt to start from scratch, but then it would just create new default xmp files when importing the folder ignoring and thus killing the existing ones - apparently it was good idea trying this with copies ... The background is that I am using dt only for raw files and have used digikam for tagging, color labels and rating of pictures in jpg - also pictures coming from e.g. mobile phones. I would like now to transfer tags, color lables and rating from jpg files in digiKam to the raw files in dt and I am using a small script for modifying the xmp files. The script seems to work fine and the only thing missing is dt to just update the database instead of killing my changes Thanks for any help Klaus ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org |
