I appreciate what you are saying.  People expect the raw to look the same
as the jpg. As you correctly say, they are night and day different. In the
very beginning I didn't get it either.

I was not calling you out - I omitted your name purposefully. You've made
so many and such positive contributions here that I know your intentions
are very right. If it sounds like I was taking you to task, I apologize. My
intent was to point out that the public image of darktable is incorrect and
limiting, and that it needs to be spoken of as a premier image editor that
can work with many image files, raw or not.
