Germano,

I'd like to suggest that you adopt a storage scheme to help with your confusion.  Without knowing the specifics of your current scheme, I'll use my own as an example.  When I have shot a job, I create a new folder that I'll call "20230614 - Germano".  Under that folder, I create the following folders from my template:

    0 - JPG

    0 - RAW 1

    0 - RAW 2

    1 - Stacked

    2 - DeNoise

    3 - Sharpen

    4 - HDR

    5 - Edits

    6 - Finals

    7 - Video.

The numbers I chose allow me to keep my order of processing consistent.  I'll later delete folders that I didn't actually use.  Photos right out of the camera go into the zero-level folders as appropriate.  Typically, I shoot RAW only, and send duplicates of any given image to both cards simultaneously (belt-and-suspenders approach).  If I choose to shoot both JPG and RAW, the JPGs go into the appropriate folder.

I also create two additional folders at the root level:

    1 - New Imports

    2 - Exports

Under Exports, I create the following structure:

        1 - Stacked

        2 - DeNoise

        3 - Sharpen

        4 - HDR

        5 - darktable

6 - RE (Real Estate - special requirements for image dimensions and file size)

        7 - Panorama

If I'm going to stack images, that happens first, with the stacked image being exported to 2 - Exports, 1 - Stacked.  You get the idea.  Exports from any processing application go to the 2 - Exports folder appropriate to the job being done.  The exported files are subsequently moved to the Date - Job folder as appropriate before the next step in processing.  The last step in processing is darktable. Files are exported from darktable, sized as required by the client.

I hope this is clear and provides you some guidance.  If not, feel free to ask your questions.

Willy Williams

Good day, I would like to ask what is your darktable workflow when you have an album made of RAWs + JPEGs (camera generated), and you want to keep certain camera generated JPEGs and generate some JPEGs with darktable. I import only RAWs in darktable, and last time I ended up being confused because I could not recognize in lighttable which photos I retouched and which not. ____________________________________________________________________________
