I admit I'm newbie in post-production, and I don't understand how levels plugin works. After the new release I restarted to read darktable manual from the begin, and now I have several doubt :)
This concerned exposure and levels plugins I hope to explain me with a use case: I have an underexposed image, with histogram finishing in the middle of the diagram. Until now, my first step was use exposure plugin to squash the histogram to the right (of course introducing noise...). Reading the manual I tried level plugin to reach the same result. So I move the right line to the end of histogram, and again my histogram moves to right. But, using levels I obtain a better balanced image. So my question is: What differences about the 2 ways? How levels plugin change general exposure in contrast of exposure plugin? Thanks a lot!
