I've printed from Photoshop, letting the Epson printing interface choose the color profiling and that has worked well. But I do most of my printing under Linux. I've tried the gimp gutenprint interface, but I didn't find it very easy to use. I've had most luck using the PhotoPrint program. He will make a profile for you if you send him the necessary information---see his website. But, I profiled my printer using the argyllcms suite of software, so I use the profile I obtained.
