I did a mistake. It is working with gphoto2 2.5.1 and darktable. The issue was that darktable was still loading the old gphoto libs 2.4.14. But when I preceeded the start command with export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/libgphoto2.so:/usr/local/lib/libgphoto2_port.so it worked fine. Live view and everything.
