There have been a few occasions on which these browser based translation tools
have been suggested. Our policy is that it's entirely up to the individual
translation teams (with some teams consisting of only a single person) to use
whatever they want. We as the darktable project will neither force translators
to use these nor forbid it. It's entirely up to you guys.

That being said, I am not only a darktable developer but also the guy doing
the German translation. And at least for de.po we will not use these services.
There is a lot of work involved to keep the translations consistent, both in
wording and style. Allowing drive by translations will break that for sure,
and even working together with other people would be more work than just doing
it alone (*). But that's just my personal opinion, others might think
differently about that.

* This doesn't mean that I am not interested in reports of wrong translations,
everyone makes errors, and sometimes you just can't think of a good
translation while others do. So everyone out there, whenever you find something
funny in our localized versions (no matter what the language is), please tell
us!
