we already have the concept of "slow modules" in the UI... maybe we could
turn that into a module flag and have a "skip slow module" flag in the
pipe...

this would allow to quickly process when there is scrolling and do one
"long" export once sliders have settled...

that would be a more generic approch to the problem that could solve that
problem in a more generic way...
