I'm actually glad that darktable doesn't mess with my raws -- I don't
want a potentially buggy implementation to mess up my photographs. Under
no circumstance -- who knows whether I only find it out once it's too
late. If I need my metadata in the raw file itself (at least for DNGs),
it's actually only a call of exiv2 away -- exiv2 can easily write the
data from the XMP to the DNG. I guess you could easily automate this.
