What about starting darktable form the console with:

$ darktable -d opencl -d perf
 
And compare the output times for the different version.
(Taken somewhere form the darktable manual.)

I notice it in darkroom mode in just about any operation. Changing settings in any module takes longer, zooming and panning also. Is there any way i can provide useful debug/profiling info?
