Well no, When selecting 'tag' in the 'Collect Images' module and
typing the tag (or part of it) used to reduce the list to any tags
that matched what you typed. Since 1.4 the list doesn't reduce
anymore (and now includes a structure in the tags themselves)
Sorry, you are right: the filtering was working on previous versions
(checked version 1.2).
But it works for me also on darktable 1.5+9~ga891f17. As soon as I
type some text, the tag folder which contains some matching string is
expanded and I can click on the tag.
I can't check 1.4 now, I'll wait for the update from debian
