First of all --- being my first post here, I introduce myself. Romano Giannetti, electronic engineer, Italian, Spanish resident, temporally living in Colorado. I use Unix since ... ever, and Linux since around 1990. Thank to all the community for darktable. I used it sporadically in the last year or two, and this year I decided to switch to it for my photo workflow.
So for my question: is it possible to apply a rating to all the images in a group while in lighttable? I explain my rationale. I normally shot RAW+JPEG; then I import all the files to a disk directory. Sometime there are files that are jpeg only (panoramas, strange things, operator errors, etc.). The next step is the first cull. The procedure I would like to use is to rapidly sweep through the images in lighttable (1 image per screen) and mark with "r" the ones I want to delete forever; at the end I review all of them showing "only rejected" and if I don't see anything strange I select them all and send all those blurry or insipid bits to oblivion with "delete". Now, grouping let me very conveniently not seeing images duplicates; but using the above procedure will delete only the raw files (which are the "head"s in the group --- by the way, I suppose this is so reliably --- am I correct?); but I could not find a way to rate all the members of the group togheter, so that when I cull the jpeg will be removed too. It's me that am unable to RTFM or this is not available? A kind of "R" or "ctrl-<number>" to apply rating "through" all the members of the group will be handy. Another possibility would be to have an option to import just raw files avoiding the jpeg that have a correspondent raw, but importing the "lone" jpegs. Thank you all for your attention!
