Well, in my case, it's really just *un-changing* it from the custom one that darktable uses by default, to use the same theme as all the other gtk and qt apps (the oxygen theme has engines for both toolkits, which is why I use it). This also makes sense for me because my system color scheme isn't all that different from darktable's default, just a little lighter with less contrasty (hence less distracting) text, etc... in other cases, it might make more sense to use a custom one for photo editing apps.
