Hello.
Regarding profiling for noise reduction:
http://www.darktable.org/2012/12/profiling-sensor-and-photon-noise

I do not know how to find a real scene that looks like the example shown
there. I do not mean to the green color, but overexposed and underexposed
in the same scene. I created this image in GIMP and have taken the photos
directly to the screen mointor (out of focus, over exposed on parts and
sub exposed in others. I used a dark room. High contrast and low brightness
on my monitor so that blacks are good blacks):

I have created the profile and everything seems fine, No error messages and
completed successfully. The noise reduction is quite good.

But I want to know if the method I used is right to see if the profile I
created for the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS camera (small noisy sensor) is
acceptable to be included in Darktable.
Here I share the profile (Slow Download button for download):

You can download CR2 Canon's SX50 RAW samples from here:

I've tried the profile with library.db and even iso 800 works pretty well
just by choosing the camera profile. From iso 800 should increase the
strength of the plugin and it works fine too. But from iso 800 annoying
purple points and purple stains appear. But I do not think that's a profile
problem since the latest example of "
http://www.darktable.org/2012/12/profiling-sensor-and-photon-noise"; also
shows these purple stains. In RawTherapee I can solve these purple problem
by setting "Defringe" and the stains and high noise by choosing
"Demosaicing > igv"

Regards.
