Are you sure? ;) Assuming we are using the same dt version, I can confirm arrow keys are not working as required by Matthias, and me too :) In the past I submitted some emails about this, but at the moment the light table is unusable with arrow key as selector. You can only scroll the lighttable up and down, but you can't change the selected picture. Can you confirm that? I think a good refactory of the light table would be great, but I fear it's not in the top list of the dev's priority.
