Confirmed with an image from my collection - a really nasty bug! This is obviously linked with merging a pull request which was done in commit 0a3a5574fdc9b33792fda4d29be8445545ea8a92.
All masks are generally stored in the image coordinates of the original image. By changing the rules of how and where images are rotated now in many cases masks of legacy history stacks are wrong. IMHO this needs to be fixed very fast.
