I downloaded a RAW from here: http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sigma_dp1_merrill_review/sample_images/ Version 1.4.2 of darktable says: [exiv2] /home/rwh/Downloads/sigma_dp1_merrill_01.x3f: /home/rwh/Downloads/sigma_dp1_merrill_01.x3f: The file contains data of an unknown image type [rawspeed] No decoder found. Sorry. Latest version 1.5+1621~gf04c36b from git says: [exiv2] /home/rwh/Downloads/sigma_dp1_merrill_01.x3f: /home/rwh/Downloads/sigma_dp1_merrill_01.x3f: The file contains data of an unknown image type RawSpeed:Unable to find camera in database: SIGMA SIGMA DP1 Merrill [rawspeed] Camera 'SIGMA' 'SIGMA DP1 Merrill', mode '' not supported, and not allowed to guess. Sorry. So no, darktable can't open these files. I've no idea how easy/hard it'd be to add support, though. It does seem like libraw has support: http://www.libraw.org/ ...but IIRC the darktable devs are trying to phase out the use of libraw in favour of rawspeed.
