I've been doing some tests and it seems for some weird reason there's an IO issue when loading the database file, I've tested copying the file through the terminal after a cold boot and it took over 2 minutes to copy the file (which is ridiculously much) but when I started darktable it suddenly gave me this feedback on the terminal: [init] moving database into new XDG directory structure No idea what this means nor do I have any clue why the IO is so low (an i7 with 16GB should be faster than this) and subsequent read operations are of course fast because it's cached.
