Reduce the JPEG export quality. Your camera (as well as Capture NX) is a
black box and you do not know at which quality setting the camera JPEGs
are exported.

Another influencing factor is the image noise. Maybe the camera applies
some denoising out of the box, but darktable does not. And for JPEG,
noise is the same as very fine detail, which increases the file size
substantially.
