Look for patterns.
Does it barf on the same/similar images?
Is image size a factor?
Are the images raw and/or all from same camera?
Have you perform a particular operation on *only* the "barf"
images?
Have you tried trouble-shooting, ie: "darktable -d all" and looking at the
logs?
fwiw: I have processed > 20,000 raw images in the past year and can count
the number of "crashes" in single digits and cannot ascribe them *only* to
darktable.
Have you tried the latest git? I constantly update to latest git with
*very* few problems.
