I’ve recently started to use darktable. Wow: what an amazing program. “Thanks” developers!
After upgrading to 1.6 last week I faced the following issues: - the view in Darkroom seems to be “padded”. After making my crops, the resultant view is smaller than the crop. Yet, the preview displays correctly. Furthermore, the exported jpeg is also sized properly. - I am unable to access the directories when trying to import folders/files/images. I see the root directory but when I try to expand it, nothing happens. As a result, I can’t bring in any new files. Thinking that perhaps there were still some bugs in the OS version of the updated program, I found and reinstalled a 1.4.2 .dmg. I deleted the 1.6 app with AppCleaner. But, when trying to start the 1.4.2 app, nothing happened. So, I reinstalled 1.6! Alas, I’m still faced with the earlier problems. Here’s an interesting observation: Although I wiped out the entire app (1.4.and 1.6), my earlier settings (ie “recently collected images”) still show up! This leads me to believe hope that perhaps a clean uninstall and a clean reinstall would sort things out. Unfortunately, I don’t where these other settings might be hiding. Can somebody please shed some further light? Many thanks, in advance! * I was initially intimidated by working in RAW but Robert Hutton’s excellent videos showed me the light. I now only shoot in RAW! Once I get this problem worked out, I’ll be able to do something again with the files.
