Disclaimer: I am an electronic engineer used to teach that you _never_
skip the AA filter, unless you want crap in your data. So I am a bit
nervous with this fad of the "no-AA" sensors. (Disclaimer of disclaimer:
I understand that probably at the pixel size we have now the lenses
supply the needed AA effect /most/ of the time).

Unfortunately, moiré is one of the effect of aliasing. Once you have
aliasing in a set of digitized data, the original data is completely
lost --- no way to recover it. See for example:

http://users.wfu.edu/matthews/misc/DigPhotog/alias/

What you can do is to do the same as a (much lower frequency) AA filter
would do: low pass (blur) the image, and the scale it down. Or paint
over it... but the real detail data is lost.
