-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm losing all the files from my index!?
I would expect to have ~100000 files indexed. But hildegard<735>: beagle-index-info Index information: Name: EvolutionMail Count: 41255 Crawling: False Name: Files Count: 55 Crawling: False Name: IndexingService Count: 123 Crawling: False So I tried kicking a file I know should have been indexed hildegard<736>: touch /disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12/572 hildegard<740>: egrep pers-2005-12/572 ~/.beagle/Log/2007*IndexHelper /home/ht/.beagle/Log/2007-05-01-12-34-45-IndexHelper:20070501 14:06:06.3035 00539 IndexH DEBUG: -file:///disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12/572 /home/ht/.beagle/Log/2007-05-01-12-34-45-IndexHelper:20070501 14:06:08.3918 00539 IndexH DEBUG: +file:///disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12/572 /home/ht/.beagle/Log/2007-05-04-15-31-07-IndexHelper:20070504 16:37:05.0000 27909 IndexH DEBUG: -file:///disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12/572 /home/ht/.beagle/Log/2007-05-04-15-31-07-IndexHelper:20070504 16:37:05.0014 27909 IndexH DEBUG: +file:///disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12/572 hildegard<741>: beagle-index-info Index information: Name: EvolutionMail Count: 41255 Crawling: False Name: Files Count: 56 Crawling: False Name: IndexingService Count: 123 Crawling: False hildegard<743>: egrep pers-2005-12 ~/.beagle/Log/2007*Beagle 20070501 14:06:14.3369 00527 Beagle DEBUG: Done crawling '/disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12' 20070504 16:37:04.9131 00527 Beagle DEBUG: *** Add '/disk/b/mail/Mail/pers-2005-12' '572' (file) So it _was_ indexed originally, disappeared at some point (why!?), but is capable of being indexed again. . . So I tried stopping the demon, clearing the whole index away and restarting the demon. After about an hour, I saw hildegard<748>: beagle-index-info Index information: Name: EvolutionMail Count: 41255 Crawling: False Name: Files Count: 40323 Crawling: True Name: IndexingService Count: 123 Crawling: False Which looks much more like it. But two days later, we're back to hildegard<755>: beagle-index-info Index information: Name: EvolutionMail Count: 41255 Crawling: False Name: Files Count: 54 Crawling: False Name: IndexingService Count: 123 Crawling: False Anyone ever seen anything similar? Any clues how to fix this? I don't believe it used to happen with earlier versions . . . [There has been a kernel upgrade on my machine recently, now running Linux version 2.6.18-1.2257_FC5_dice_1.2smp ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-51)) #1 SMP Fri Feb 23 13:03:27 GMT 2007 I suppose I could try recompiling from scratch in case there's some obscure dependency problem. . .] Thanks in advance, ht - -- Henry S.
