Well, for the *running* it's not an issue, especially as Python is a dynamical language. But I see more the issue of every developer having to have "umpteen" packages/libraries installed, even though they may just be working on the core or a particular backend. Could you please file a corresponding > bug report? Yes, for the documentation it would be good at least to be more specific to whichever backend it refers. Otherwise it may quickly become a show stopper for somebody to get involved with it, as it can easily become a dependency mess. And yes, I'll file a report for the issue.
