Alex, I actually think DO is not where the JDBC support should live. A JdbcAdapter in DM (separate from the DataObjectsAdapter) using JDBC directly will be faster, and probably easier to maintain considering it will need to abstract syntax for new databases (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, etc).
