Hello

To coincide with the move from the old lighthouse to the new (
http://datamapper.lighthouseapp.com ), we're clearing out all the old
tickets. This doesn't necessarily mean fixing them right away though
that is, of course, the ultimate goal. The goal for the moment is
simply to get rid of all the unconfirmed tickets, classifying them as:

Resolved
The problem reported in the ticket is no more

Confirmed
This is a real problem, and a fix is needed

Hold
This might be a real problem, but we need a little more information.

This will allow people who do have the time to fix bugs to quickly
find what the problems are and deal with them.

On Sunday, there were getting on for 200 unconfirmed tickets. There
are now around 80, but some help with the confirmation process would
definitely be appreciated. To confirm a ticket doesn't take much. If
the problem is resolved, a simple note of "Works for me using
0.9.7|edge" is all that is needed. If it is still a problem, then a
so called 'one file example', which is a minimal example using an
sqlite3 memory adapter and just enough code to duplicate the problem
would be a great thing to attach to the ticket. (One file example are
great to include with new tickets too, as they allow a developer to
quickly identify the problem)

On a similar note, we'd also like people to volunteer to adopt a
dm-more gem (preferably not just for Christmas ^_~), generally taking
responsibility for fixing bugs which emerge in the library, and being
knowledgeable enough about the gem in question to know if something is
a bug.

Finally, if you have recently (or not so recently) submitted a ticket,
it would be great if you could look up the lighthouse and especially
check it isn't on hold, or if it is, supply some more details.

If you have more questions, or would like to volunteer, please reply
to this email, or find me in #datamapper on freenode. (Or just jump
right in and start commenting on tickets and providing examples!)

Regards
Jon

PS To easily generate one file example, I have a gem (which will soon
be extended to more DM related files - though not for any particular
web framework) available from:
