ports bugs me. I know its come a long way, but I can't shake the feeling that I don't have control over what's installed and how/where. I have been able to pretty easily install all my OS X toolchain to be consistent with my production linux one without resorting to ports.
That said, when I was a FreeBSD user, I loved that ports. Different animal, different platform ;) Jon On Dec 30, 12:41 am, Maxim Filatov <[email protected]> wrote: > On Dec 29, 2008, at 7:20 PM, Jon Hancock wrote: > > > > > I had written a blog post on source installing postgres on OS X > >http://odwks.com/2008/10/postgresql-install-on-os-x/ > > There is manual on building postgres from > ports.http://robbyonrails.com/articles/2008/01/22/installing-ruby-on-rails-... > Seems easier ;) > > P.S. do_postgres is working with it. > > --- > Best regards, > Maxim Filatov --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DataMapper" group.
