Hey everyone,

Now that the holiday season is over I wanted to kick off a series of
posts with a call for maintainers for dm-more gems.

As you probably know, DataMapper is built on top of the core in dm-
core, plugins in dm-more, and data objects. There's alot of software
there, and not everyone uses every part. It's clear that it won't be
possible for one person, or even a couple people, to maintain all of
the gems in dm-more, so I am asking for people who use a specific gem
to volunteer to officially maintain it.

We've put together a page on the wiki with each gem, including the
people who have volunteer to maintain each gem:

  http://datamapper.org/doku.php?id=gem_maintainers

Even if you've never contributed to DataMapper before, please consider
taking on a gem that you use regularly. What we're looking for is not
necessarily someone who knows so much about a gem that they can
rewrite it from memory, but someone who uses the gem in a real world
setting, and has a vested interest in seeing it become rock solid in
terms of specs, docs, and keeping up on the tickets related to the
gem.

Please view the page above, and if you are interested in maintaining a
gem, please put your IRC handle down and your full name beside it.

If you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Dan
(dkubb)

P.S. In the next day or so I plan to follow up with a post on "Other
ways you can help DataMapper", the Status of the latest rewrite, and a
rough outline of a DM 1.0 Roadmap.
