Title : Software Design Engineer in Test 2 Duration : 364 Days Location : REDMOND, WA • What is the WGX Windows Platform Development team? The name is a bit misleading due to recent organizational changes. We’re actually part of the overall Xbox group focused on the web, services, and casual space properties of Xbox, Games for Windows, GfW- Live, MSN & Messenger games. • Does your team have a URL to learn more? Internal or external? Externally I don’t believe we have anything which explains exactly what we do outside of the general www.xbox.com, www.gfw.com, and MSN gaming portals. • What is will this agency temporary be tasked with during his/her assignment? Feature tester focusing on a new multi-tiered application we’re developing. • How would you describe the day-to-day duties that will fall upon this agency temporary? Can you provide a sample task list? Typical test responsibilities: - Work with PM & dev counter parts to define features - Author test documentation and other collateral - Own manual feature testing - Write test automation • Outside of the job description, what are the “must have” qualifications the ideal candidate would possess (top 4 tools, technologies, etc.) - Experience testing databases. Working with SQL Server a plus - Web technologies (web sites, services, etc…) experience - C# coding ability, specifically with writing test automation - Experience working/testing multi-tiered applications Designs and develops test plans, performs repeatable testing procedures and processes. Verifies triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, hardware product or system specifications. Interprets and modifies code as required including batch files, make files, Perl scripts, queries, stored procedures and/or triggers. Additional Skills: 1-3 plus years software testing experience, 1 year in a Windows client/ server environment required. Developing programs in at least one language (such as C/C++, VB, SQL, etc.). Must have solid knowledge of software quality assurance practices, with strong testing aptitude. Must have the ability to read logical and physical data model diagrams. Ability to read and write C/C++ and VB required. Database programming experience, i.e. SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, Informix and/ or DB2 may be required. Familiarity with COM is needed. Visual Basic, MFC, OLE, Internet tools, NT, compiler preprocessor preferred. Knowledge of personal computer hardware may be required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required and some business/functional knowledge preferred.
