Data Architect Duration: 6 months Location: Columbia, MD Rate: $55/hr C2C Phone screen followed by F2F Manager says "We are looking for a data architect to help design/model/implement new databases." Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree plus 10 or more years database management experience. Description: Acts in the highest level technical role in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's physical, relational, and object-oriented databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. Leads the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards. Provides expert-level consulting services in the identification and resolution of highly complex database issues. Recognized as an internal expert on database management issues. Leads the planning, design, and usage of data resources. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Must have superior communication and interpersonal skills. Will be responsible for designing databases and driving the design through implementation. The Data Architecture works to define and implement an enterprise data architecture that facilitates meeting strategic goals. This involves developing the overall data architecture strategy, creating and maintaining standards and best practices for data provisioning and data integration, enterprise data modeling, design, and architecture for corporate information systems including transactional, reporting and analytical systems. Key responsibilities for the Data Architect: Providing project level design and data modeling support through ERD modeling Learning the corporate business model through close interaction with business/IT teams Providing data architecture support and expertise to all major enterprise projects Ensuring enterprise data is structured for ease of use in decision making and operations Developing and adhering to data modeling standards and best practices Identifying opportunities for data alignment and re-use Implementing principles, policies, standards and guidelines for data management and governance Platform and Skill Set Expertise: Database Development : Oracle, Documentation Tools : Visio, Design Skills & Tools : Erwin, Design Skills & Tools : Data Modeling, Design Skills & Tools : Data Warehouse Design, Analysis Skills : Business Analysis For further information please feel free to call/email me.
