ID: Req-0157 - Senior DB2 DBA Primary Skills: Around 10 years of exp with DB2 DBA Description: Work closely with onsite & offshore development teams - Define database application objects - Provide assistance to the development team on performance tuning, resolving locking solutions, assist data modeler with SQL scripts/ - Perform DB2 database SQL tuning, recommending best practices for performance, performance mentoring. - Have strong fundamental & conceptual knowledge on all forms of locking, DB2 architecture, physical & application (table width='100%') level partitioning techniques. - Interface with business analysts & developers with regards to application, logical & physical database design, create and maintain logical entity relationship diagrams, transform logical models into physical data models. - Work closely with DB2 UDB System DBA to install DB2, apply latest fix packs, create database, and perform database upgrades. - Define schemas, users and security policies. Perform Exports/Imports/Loads of data - Monitor DB2 UDB processes and logs for any anomalies, provide corrective actions. - Work with GB / TB Warehouse maintenance - Maintain DB2 Variable values (registry values, environment values, configuration parameters. - Provide capacity projections of the warehouse and sizing the warehouse accordingly - Should work on migrating data from Microsoft SQL Server and other data systems on as-needed basis. Requirements Minimum 10+ years of experience in DB2 UDB V9 database administration (On Linux/Unix systems), supporting large databases (upwards of 1 TB). Must have experience with DB2 UDB for LUW Version 9. 6+ years of experience with DB2 EEE and partitioned databases. 6+ years of application development experience involving DB2. 6+ years hands on LINUX/AIX experience. 6+ years of experience or participation in large-scale enterprise application implementations. 6+ years hands on performance monitoring tools and extensive experience in large-scale database performance tuning required.
