1) Linux Systems Engineer (6 + months) 2) Release management consulting position (6 months duration) 3) Senior engineer – Enterprise Content Distribution System 4) Software test engineer – Enterprise Content Distribution System 1) Linux Systems Engineer Responsibilities: Define, design and build enterprise quality install/upgrade software for the Video product line that generates significant revenue. You will champion new methodologies and create scalable software solutions that interact with widely deployed Internet products, thereby touching an endless number of users worldwide. The ideal candidate must understand the Linux and System Level tools to write installers, upgrade. In addition, the candidate must understand system level performance tools to fine tune system for different functions. Chosen candidate will join a small high performance team at the early stages of a new and exciting product line. Responsible for creating the upgrade, fresh installs, backup/restore and monitoring tools. Candidate will work closely with a team of software engineers and marketing to develop new features based on customer requirements. Requirements: • Requires a strong background and hands on experience with Linux, Shell Scripting, Python • VMWare / Virtualization • Prior experience in writing upgrade, install process • Automation of Upgrade and Install testing • Requires understanding of configuring Tomcat, Streaming server etc. • Understand various backup/restore technologies & integration of these technologies • Design customer-driven software solutions that must be re-usable, extendible, and scalable • Develop products through the entire development life cycle • Work closely with the product team during the concept and design phases • Must have development experience on Linux and Windows platform • Strong software debugging skills and the ability to analyze relatively complex problems at the system level • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team Desirable: • Understand Java • Streaming protocols RTP, RTSP • Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and AJAX • Experience with any of the following a plus: Hibernate, Web Services, SQL databases 2) Release management consulting position. Candidate must have gone through various phases of release management cycle – branching strategy, build, merging, troubleshooting build failures. Candidate must have worked on system with web based architecture built using Tomcat, Apache, Spring, hibernate, javascript/actionscript, XML, REST. Candidate should also have experience in working as system and quality tester where the responsibility will be to certify the system before handing over to test on an ongoing basis. May also participate in troubleshooting/testing customer issues. 3) Senior engineer – Enterprise Content Distribution System – Seeking a Technical Leader to lead Enterprise Content Distribution System, a new line of product with Digital Media division. This division is focused on new growth in the area of enterprise video and digital media over IP for applications like social video, digital signage, IPTV for business, and media processing. Responsibilities: Successful candidate will be actively participating in the initial stages of developing Enterprise content distribution system. Interacts with product manager to help define the roadmap, write functional specification, design documents, apply virtualization concepts, implementation, mentor other team members. Collaborate with other groups/BUs for cross functional leverage, help evolve the architecture and hands-on contribution to compelling time lines. Requirements: - Proficiency in large scale and complex system design and development using C/C++ - Overall 8-10+ years of experience in relevant domain and technologies. BS/MS degree in engineering/technology, advanced degree preferred. - Understanding of video technologies such streaming/multicasting, Windows Media, Flash, Quick Time. - Experience in video transmission/streaming over IP network; HTTP/RTP/RTCP/RTSP - Solid background in digital content process flows and media streaming technologies by the broadcast and digital video delivery industries, including telcos and IPTV. - Strong technical leadership, mentoring and collaboration skills and strong execution focus - Experience with multiple development environments (Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac). - Fairly good experience with Java, scripting languages like Perl Preferred skills - Broad knowledge of multiple technologies, including SOA, application integration, infrastructure design, media storage, and solution architecture. - Experience with Cisco's ACNS, WAAS, CDN. ====================================================== 4) Software test engineer – Enterprise Content Distribution System a. Seeking a senior Software Test Engineer to take a leading part in developing Enterprise Content Distribution System, a new line of product with the engineering group. This business unit is focused on new growth in the area of enterprise video and digital media over IP for applications like social video, digital signage, IPTV for business, and media processing. b. Responsibilities: i. - Set up and maintain DMS/eCDS testbed ii. - Develop and maintain ATS/eARMS automation scritps iii. - Participate in test plan development; execute test cases, log problem reports and verify fixes. iv. - Understand product requirements, deployment scenarios and customer use cases. v. - Interface with DE and TAC in the recreation and resolution of customer reported problems. c.
