I have an urgent requirement below with one of my Clients *Title:* Java 6 Developer with Swing, Eclipse *Location:* New York *Duration:* 6 Months + *Start date:* Immediate *Job Description*: Key skills are Java, Swing, Eclipse. Must have Java Version 6 experience. Subversion and Maven are a plus. It will also be nice to have some mentoring experience. Financial experience not required but ideal candidate will have worked with trade processing systems. The role requires delivering java code (and some sql code) on time, meeting company standards in term of quality and performance. The developer will be expected to work on existing code - providing bug fixes and enhancements as well as new code providing new functionalities. Thus, strong analytical and reverse engineering skills are required. The candidate will work within an agile team following XP and Scrum principles. Pair programming, peer review and active teamwork are encouraged so the candidate must be able to integrate within an existing team and have strong teamwork skills. The candidate should expect to work with offshore development centers for some aspects of the duties. General Skills - Good written and spoken technical English - Ability to write functional and technical specifications documents - Ability to integrate within a team and adapt to organization in place - Knowledge of the financial services industry is a plus - Strong analytical skills a must - Knowledge of WebSphere / Netbeans / RAD / Eclipse / Maven / JUnit / QTP / Quality Center / SVN would be a plus. Technical Skills - Experienced Java developer, proven expertise with SWING, J2EE is a must. Minimum 7 years of experience. Additional skills are an advantage: - Sybase Transact-SQL stored procedures. Programming expertise; alternatively Microsoft SQL Server Transact-SQL stored procedures programming expertise.
