Job Title: Sr. Java / Perl Developer Duration – 12 – 24 months Location – Jersey City, NJ ONLY Local to Ny / Nj / CT / PA candidates required : ***Financial Industry Experience REQUIRED*** The Systems Analyst/Sr. Developer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing software, designing and developing new software, as well as oversight of various other data processing tasks that support the core Clearing and Settlement systems. Technical Responsibilities Develop, implement key modules and components in PERL & Java Determine implementation/execution approaches Support existing PERL & Java based applications Develop SQL queries Development of Detailed Programming Specifications. Development of database design Development of programming solutions from functional specifications. Analyst Responsibilities Gather business requirements and facilitate the design, development, and testing of complex applications. Conduct and document analysis of business needs and resulting new system development or system modifications with the client and other team members. Prepare requirements documentation, develop test plans, conduct user reviews, and obtain sign-offs. Qualifications: Object-oriented (OO) programming and concepts Strong knowledge of core Java (J2EE) concepts Knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server. Some experience on any of the enterprise application servers like Websphere , Weblogic-1, JBoss , Tomcat Strong experience with SQL programming and relational databases (preferably Sybase) Strong UNIX and Windows Knowledge of PERL is required Strong ability to work in a customer interfacing environment Candidates should possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong verbal and communication skills Desirable: Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and be able to work on multiple projects. Knowledge of Cognos 8.2, FrameWork Manager, Cognos Connection, ReportStudio, QueryStudio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Scripts, Cognos Scheduler, Content Manger-6 months, Access Manager. Understanding of network protocols, MQSeries- (Websphere MQ-), CVS The candidate should be extremely well organized and have excellent interpersonal skills.
