method "jd" Julian days to output 1-365?

Hi,

I'm wondering how I can get the Julian calendar day number ... the "jd" 
method outputs
2453651.26821759, which I'm not sure how to interpret, modulo 365 
doesn't do the trick,
either, on that or the "mjd" return value.
Please help,
