Hi All,
You can go here (http://www.irs.gov/publications/p538/ar02.html ) to see the IRS definition of a 52/53 week tax year. The retail 4-5-4 week calendar is an example of a 52/53 week year that starts on the Sunday nearest to Jan 31. This is an attractive option for reporting sales analysis purposes as it generally keeps holidays in the same week for year over year reports. Granted, this is a fairly arcane subject that only accountants and sales managers care about, but it is an ideal subject for a perl module and seems to me to be a proper subset of DateTime. Jim
