Guys,
I have used a scope on the data lines and they are not overly saturated,
infact, they are only being accessed a fraction of the time they could
be. The most efficient configuration I have tested is MMC pro set to
50Mhz clock and by efficient it seems to use up less system resources.
However even at 16Mhz it should be transferring a lot faster.
I am thinking the issue is that the data appears only to be written once
every 1ms, could this be how often the kernel services the MMC IO? Does
it only allow a few ms every 1 or so ms for the driver to dump its data
to the card?
There is obviously a bottleneck somewhere which really limits the use of
SD/MMC for any serious video style application.
