Again: u-boot doesn't need modification, if your purpose is _only_ of 
changing some "application software".

Anyway: ubl and uboot are two different bootloader, that does different 
things and both resides in flash, but at different address.

UBL simply calls U-boot, while Uboot makes hardware initialization, load 
some environments and calls the Linux kernel with the right parameters.
