Hello, I have a TI DaVinci 355 evaluation kit. I was able to recompile the supplied 2.6.10 kernel and boot it using tftp and nfs root file system.
I wanted to upgrade to the latest davinci 2.6.28 git kernel. However I can not get this new kernel to nfs mount a root file system. I tried all sorts of kernel configurations but all fail. I know its not my host setup because using the exact setup I'm always able to successfully boot the original 2.6.10 kernel. The error is: Looking up port of RPC 100003/2 on 192.168.1.100 rpcbind: server 192.168.1.100 not responding, timed out Root-NFS: Unable to get nfsd port number from server, using default Looking up port of RPC 100005/1 on 192.168.1.100 rpcbind: server 192.168.1.100 not responding, timed out Root-NFS: Unable to get mountd port number from server, using default Root-NFS: Server returned error -5 while mounting /home/atsvitov/davinchi-sw/tas VFS: Unable to mount root fs via NFS, trying floppy. VFS: Cannot open root device "nfs" or unknown-block(2,0) Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(2,0) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
