Your nfshost is 172.16.1.244, according  to  the  bootargs, but the message  
says it is trying 172.16.1.102. Don't know  why.
When you used nfs  for  downloading, did you note  the  ip addresses?
Anyway  try these  also:
1. Use  the  same  server  for  both tftp  and  nfs
2. Change the ipaddress  of the  board.

Thanks jaya for your help i have tried it but it isn't working.i have seen the 
file /var/log/messages the following lines get print there when i use the 
command nfs to download the uImage.uImage gets download sucessfully

It  looks  the  board ip  is  missing  in the bootargs. Try setting  it  
statically.

Ex:
setenv  bootargs console=ttyS0,115200n8 noinitrd rw 
ip=172.16.0.92:172.16.1.244:172.16.0.10:255.255.240.0:::off root=/dev/nfs 
nfsroot=$(nfshost):$(rootpath),nolock mem=120M

                Wehave made our own custom board  DM6446 i am done with the 
u-boot andthe kernel.But my problem is that i am unable to to mount the 
kernelusing NFS and i am getting the following error. I have mounted my NFShost 
on other Clients and I am able to sucessfully mount the files onthe client and 
from client on the server.

I have also transferedthe uImage via NFS to my board.But when i boot the kernel
