Hi, Version 2.2.0 of Dazuko has now been released. As mentioned previously, the sudden change from 2.1.1 to 2.2.0 is due to some important changes in Dazuko's core (the cross-platform code used for all platforms). All versions prior to 2.2.x have a potential deadlock that can occur if registered application groups are not returning access responses as fast as they are coming in. This is an unfortunate bug that has been with Dazuko since before it was released as free software.
Another change is for Linux 2.6: Dazuko now allows the LSM hook inode_permission() to be stacked. This was necessary to allow other modules (such as that used by SuSE's AppArmor) to stack on top of Dazuko. Unfortunately SuSE has now decided to no longer ship Dazuko with their OS. The fact that Dazuko uses LSM is the main reason for these complications (which are not only technical, but also political). Dazuko needs to get out of LSM on Linux 2.6. Fortunately this is planned for Dazuko 3.0 (and is currently in very active development).
