A co-worker recently forwarded a link to an article that describes a Denial of
Service vulnerability for DB2 UDB. In summary, the vulnerability exists when a
Telnet session is established to the ports that db2ccs.exe & db2jds.exe run on
(typically ports 6790 & 6789) & sending 1 byte of information. The result is a
server crash.

The article specifically mentions that the vulnerability exists when DB2 UDB is
running on Windows 2000 or Windows NT. No mention is made whether the
vulnerability exists for DB2 UDB running on AIX or other platforms (the article
appears on the Windows IT Security Web site). Has anyone heard whether the
vulnerability exists on platforms other than WIN2K or WINNT?

Thanks for your time.
